About the course
Major questions of the organization and contents of the practical course of Russian as a foreign language: goal of training, learning objectives, and linguo-didactic technologies that are used. Language and speech material for aspects of the practical course as well as its methodical organization at Russian as a foreign language classes are described. Attention is also given to the specifics of describing the language, aimed at teaching it as a foreign language (level description) and opportunities for using test technologies for performing the training situation tasks. A distinctive feature of the course is all its materials being practice-oriented and the possibility of transferring all the methodical solutions, recommendations, patterns etc. directly to the pedagogical practice of the participants.
Graduation thesis (25-30 pages) on the subject of one of the course modules shall contain a theoretical (review of scientific and educational literature on the subject) and practical (consolidation of your own pedagogical experience) parts. The work should show in what way the course participant intends to practically use the knowledge and skills obtained within the course.
As the course progresses, each participant will be able to choose a scientific supervisor (from the module authors), who will provide them with training support. After the course is successfully finished, the participant shall send completed work for review to the Advanced Training and Occupational Retraining Center of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute. Depending on the number of those who would like to receive a Certificate and upon agreement with them, the schedule and procedure for presenting the graduation theses at the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute will be determined.
Students with basic philological or pedagogical education, who have graduated from the course with marks 4 and 5, will be permitted to defend their graduation theses.
Additional information:
1. Work on the graduation thesis starts after the entire course (i. e. 10 modules) is complete.
2. The subject of the work is to be determined by each participant independently. The wording of the subject and the last name of the assumed scientific consultant (among the course lecturers) is to be communicated to the Advanced Training and Occupational Retraining Center of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute within 10 days after the course completion.
3. Scientific consulting during work on the graduation thesis implies: discussion of a subject (and correcting it, if necessary) and consultation during work on the thesis via e-mail or in a different way upon agreement with the scientific consultant (with a total consultation time of less than 5 academic hours).
4. Work has to be complete and sent in for a review to the Advanced Training and Occupational Retraining Center of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute within one month after the course ends. Review preparation time is 1 month.
5. Works that receive positive reviews are permitted for defense that is conducted on site at the Advanced Training and Occupational Retraining Center of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute (6 Akademika Volgina St., Moscow).
